ITINERARY FOR KRAKOW CHOIR TOUR

DAY 1 – TRAVEL TO KRAKOW

  • Depart Dublin airport for flight to Krakow airport “Balice.”
  • Meet your coach and transfer to Krakow for check-in and overnight.

DAY 2 – WAWEL CASTLE

  • Breakfast at the hotel followed by an opportunity to sing at a local mass in Krakow town.
  • Later we have a guided by local guide half day sightseeing of Krakow (duration: 3,5 hours) featuring: Wawel hill with its Wawel castle’s chambers & cathedral.
  • Continue with old town and see the renaissance cloth hall at the main market square – one of the largest town squares in Europe-, Jagiellonian university, barbakan, Florian gate, old Jewish district Kazimierz.
  • Overnight at your hotel in krakow.

DAY 3 – WIELICZKA

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Morning visit to the salt mine museum in Wieliczka (duration: 1,5 hours) the historic salt mine in Wieliczka is the only site in the world where mining has continued since the Middle Ages.
  • Lying on nine levels, its original excavations (longitudinals, traverses, chambers, lakes, as well as lesser and major shafts) stretch for the total of 300 km reaching the depth of 327 m.
  • They illustrate all the stages of the development of mining technology over time.
  • We can see up to 20 excavated chambers on 3 levers, full of beautiful statues sculpted from salt as well as the salt works museum. Opportunity to perform in the mine.
  • Overnight in a hotel in Krakow.

DAY 4 – OSWIECIM                                           

  • After breakfast departure to Oswiecim.
  • In Oswiecim visit of former nazi concentration camp:  Auschwitz & Birkenau Museum (duration: 2,5 hours).
  • Visit cell of St. Maksymilian Kolbe (1894-1941) – priest, friar, martyr. At the concentration camp, St. Maksymilian Kolbe decided to save the life of one of his fellow-prisoners by going voluntarily to the “starvation” cell, where he died. He was canonized by pope john Paul ii in 1982.
  • At the afternoon – at leisure in Krakow
  • Departure transfer from hotel to Krakow’s airport “Balice” for flight to Dublin
