DAY 1: Wednesday 7th April – Rome

  • Arrival in Rome (dep. 06.20am – arr. 10:25/10:40am)
  • Transfer to St Mary Major area
  •  Lunch/snacks in Rome city centre (own expenses)
  • Mass and guided visit of the Basilica of Saint Mary Major
  • Evening pilgrimage walk to: Piazza Navona, Pantheon and Trevi Fountain
  • Check in Guest House Istituto Orsoline di Maria Immacolata and free time for dinner

**** The accommodation on this pilgrimage is based on a bed-only basis. Located in the Trastevere District, one of the most restaurant-dense areas of Rome, so you’ll find cafés, wine bars, and trattorie within 2–5 minutes on foot.DAY 2:

Thursday 8th April – Main Papal Basilicas

MORNING

  • Archbasilica of Saint Paul Outside the Walls
  • Explore the Basilica’s early Christian heritage and monastic traditions
  • Introduction to its liturgical life, sacred space, and role in Christian pilgrimage history
  • Basilica of Saint John Lateran
  • Guided visit focusing on the basilica’s liturgical life and its role as the cathedral of the Bishop of Rome
  • Reflection on how architecture and acoustics shape worship and the prayer experience
  • Insight into the site’s significance for pilgrims and the universal Church
  • Visit to the Pontifical Sanctuary of the Holy Stairs
  • Lunch in the area

AFTERNOON

  • Free time for members to explore Rome’s musical and cultural heritage
  • Guided reflection on sacred art, liturgy, and church music traditions
  • Walk from Holy Stairs to Colosseum
  • Optional attendance at Stations of the Cross at the Colosseum
  • Colosseum to Roman Forums
  • Roman Forums to Piazza del Campidoglio
  • Piazza del Campidoglio to Pantheon
  • Pantheon to Spanish Steps
  • Spanish Steps to Piazza Navona
  •  Back to the hotel and rest of the evening at leisure

DAY 3: Friday 9th April – Nettuno Pilgrimage

  • Morning departure for Nettuno, a beautiful coastal pilgrimage town south of Rome
  • Pilgrimage visit to the Shrine of Saint Maria Goretti
  • Time for prayer and reflection by the sea
  • Guided walk through Nettuno’s historic centre and harbour area
  • Group lunch and free time to enjoy the coastal atmosphere
  •  Return to Rome in the late afternoon
  • Free Evening dinner (back in Rome)

DAY 4: Saturday 10th April – Assisi Pilgrimage & Farewell Programme

  • Early departure for Assisi
  • Basilica of Saint Francis of Assisi
  • Basilica of Saint Clare
  • Santa Maria degli Angeli
  • Guided spiritual and musical reflection on Franciscan traditions
  • Closing Mass with choir participation and sacred music performance
  • Time for personal visits, prayer, and lunch in Assisi
  • Evening farewell dinner back in Rome (own epxenses)

DAY 5: Sunday 11th April – Vatican – Angelus prayer and departure

  • Early hotel check-out
  • Visit to St Peter’s Basilica and the Vatican Grottoes
  • Walking tour of St Peter’s Square and Vatican surroundings
  • Angelus prayer with the Pope at 12:00
  • Free time for lunch – souvenir shopping – Transfer to the airport
  • Inbound flight departure scheduled for approximately 21:50pm (arrival Dublin airport 00:05)
  • Prices per person sharing double rooms with private facilities
