Join our Pilgrimage to Rome and Assisi visiting the Vatican City and Rome’s most important basilicas and religious sites.

On this pilgrimage we will be visiting Rome’s historical Basilicas such as the Basilica of Saint John Lateran or the Basilica of Saint Paul Outside the Walls, dating back to the 4th century and home to the relics of Saint Paul.

At the Vatican City, centre of the Roman Catholic Church and important pilgrimage destination, we will visit Saint Peter’s Basilica and the magnificent Square, as well as the Vatican Museums.

In Rome, we will enjoy a sightseeing tour of the city admiring its extraordinary heritage and its most iconic monuments and wonderful squares, such as the Pantheon, the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and Navona Square.

We will visit Genzano in the Alban Hills, famous for its miraculous Fresco the Madonna of Genzano. From Genzano we will travel to Assisi, the homeplace of Saint Francis. We will enjoy a walking tour of Assisi visiting the main sights of this wonderful medieval city, including the Basilica of Saint Francis, the Basilica of St. Clare, the tomb of Carlo Acutis, and the church of Santa Maria degli Angeli.

Join our Pilgrimage to Rome and Assisi visiting the Vatican City and Rome’s most important basilicas and religious sites.

strong>DAY 1: ROME

Early departure from Dublin airport on our flight to Rome. On arrival, we will be met by our Joe Walsh tours pilgrimage co-ordinator and transferred by private coach to our Hotel in Rome.
We will visit of St Peter Basilica before checking in the hotel where we will stay for three nights with breakfast each day.

DAY 2: BASILICA OF ST. PAUL’S OUTSIDE THE WALLS, TREVI FOUNTAIN, PANTHEON AND NAVONA SQUARE

Today after breakfast at the hotel we will be transferred by bus to the Basilica of St. Paul’s Outside the Walls for private Mass.
Then we will walk to drop off point for the walking tour of the historic centre: Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain where we have free time for lunch on own, then Pantheon and Navona Square. We will take a bus transfer back to the hotel.

DAY 3: GENZANO

Breakfast at the hotel and bus transfer to Genzano 29km from Rome in the Alban Hills. Genzano hosts the miraculous Fresco of Mother of good Counsel, or else known as the Madonna of Genzano. The church of Genzano is where the order of Saint Augustine has served since 1356. We will have Mass in Genzano and enjoy some free time for lunch.
We will take a bus transfer back to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 4: TIVOLI & ASSISI

After breakfast  we depart Rome to Assisi. On our way we will stop and visit Tivoli which has a handful of world renown UNESCO Heritage sites, which includes the three magnificent villas and gardens and several churches. We will continue to to Assisi and check into hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 5: FULL DAY IN ASSISI

Today we will have a full day tour of Assisi, including the Basilica of St. Claire, tomb of Carlo Acutis.  We wil private Mass and free time to explore Assisi. In the late afternoon we will take a bus transfer back to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 6: ASSISI, BASILICA OF ST FRANCIS & BASILICA OF ST CLARE 

Possibly we will have Mass in Santa Maria degli Angeli. It will be a privilege as it is the ‘Patron of Assisi’. We have a walking tour of the main sights of the medieval town of Assisi. We visit the impressive thirteenth century Basilica of St. Francis, the mother church of the Franciscan order. Construction of the Basilica started a mere two years after the death of St. Francis. We also visit the Basilica of St. Clare, foundress of the Order of the Poor Clares. If time permitting we will visit the town of Norcia.  We will end the day enjoying dinner at your hotel in Assisi.

DAY 7: FLIGHT BACK TO DUBLIN

This is our last day. After breakfast and check out we will make our way to Rome airport for our flight back to Dublin
