Join this wonderful 7 – night pilgrimage to Italy visiting Padua and Lake Garda.

We start this journey in Torbole, located on the Lake Garda shores. We will be admiring the beautiful landscape, the huge mountain peaks and the blooming nature, before visiting the amazing Shrine of ‘Our Lady of the Crown’. This is a favourite destination of thousands of pilgrims looking for reconciliation or simply to experience a moment of intense peace. We will then visit the quaint village of Limone. Enjoy this 1h30mins boat tour with breathtaking views of the lake and surrounding mountains. We will be dropped and picked up at Limone sul Garda, a small village in the northwestern part of Lake Garda.

We will continue our journey by visiting Trento, a city rich in religious, historical, and cultural significance, making it a meaningful stop for pilgrims with its Cathedral ‘Duomo di San Vigilio’, the church of Santa Maria Maggiore and the Buonconsiglio Castle.

We will spend the next day admiring the beauties of Riva del Garda. Located on the northern shore of Lake Garda, is a picturesque town surrounded by mountains and water. While it is more known for its natural beauty and outdoor activities, it also offers several peaceful and spiritually enriching spots that are meaningful for pilgrims or those seeking a reflective and culturally rich experience.

We will then travel to the second part of our pilgrimage, Padua, we will have a guided visit and Mass in the Basilica of Saint Anthony. This beautiful Romanesque Church is one the most visited sanctuaries in Italy, dedicated to Saint Anthony of Padua, patron saint of ‘Lost articles’. The next day we will, enjoy a guided walking tour of the city including Prato della Valle, one of the largest squares in Europe and its famous market.

The last day of our pilgrimage will include a visit to the Sanctuary of St. Leopold Mandić, built in the 16th century almost completely destroyed in World War II, it was later rebuilt.

*Please note this pilgrimage involves a certain amount of walking and physical activity, such as stairs, standing for extended periods and walking on uneven surfaces; especially when visiting historical and religious sites. Pilgrimage to Padua and Lake Garda Itinerary

Day 1 – Lake Garda

Today, we will embark on a comfortable journey from Dublin Airport, departing at 07:40hrs, and flying directly to Venice. We are scheduled to land around 11:25hrs, where you will be warmly greeted by our Joe Walsh representative. From there, we will travel by private coach to Torbole, located on the Lake Garda shores. We will be admiring the beautiful landscape, the huge mountain peaks and the blooming nature, before visiting the amazing Shrine of ‘Our Lady of the Crown’. This is a favourite destination of thousands of pilgrims looking for reconciliation or simply to experience a moment of intense peace. Visit and Mass. Stop for lunch before reaching the Hotel Piccolo Mondo where we will be staying for the next four nights on a Half Board basis.

Day 2 – Lake Garda

After breakfast and a good night rest optional Boat tour of the Lake Garda (to be paid locally) and visit to the quaint village of Limone. Enjoy this 1h30mins boat tour with breathtaking views of the lake and surrounding mountains. We will be dropped and picked up at Limone sul Garda, a small village in the northwestern part of Lake Garda. Famous for its “Limonaie”, where you can admire the various types of citrus fruits grown, its fine olive oil, thanks to the numerous olive groves and for the longevity of its inhabitants. Mass will be in a local church in the afternoon. Time to go back to the Hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 3 – Trento 

Today promises another wonderful opportunity to explore the charming city of Trento, (known in English as Trent). Situated along the Adige River in the South Tyrol region of northern Italy, Trento has a rich and unique history, having once been part of Austria and the Austro- Hungarian Empire. Trento is a city rich in religious, historical, and cultural significance, making it a meaningful stop for pilgrims with its Cathedral ‘Duomo di San Vigilio’, the church of Santa Maria Maggiore and the Buonconsiglio Castle. Time to head back to the hotel for a nice and relaxing evening. Dinner and overnight.

Day 4 – Riva Del Garda

Today we will spend the day admiring the beauties of Riva del Garda. Located on the northern shore of Lake Garda, is a picturesque town surrounded by mountains and water. While it is more known for its natural beauty and outdoor activities, it also offers several peaceful and spiritually enriching spots that are meaningful for pilgrims or those seeking a reflective and culturally rich experience. Time to explore the church of Santa Maria Assunta and the church of Inviolata. Mass before going back and enjoy the last dinner.

Day 5 – Padua

Today after breakfast and check out from the hotel we will continue to the next part of our Pilgrimage and travel to Padua. On arrival in Padua time for check in at the Casa del Pellegrino (if rooms are ready), our base for the next three nights on Half Board basis. Time for lunch. In the afternoon we will have a guided visit and Mass in the Basilica of Saint Anthony. This beautiful Romanesque Church is one the most visited sanctuaries in Italy, dedicated to Saint Anthony of Padua, patron saint of ‘Lost articles’. Time to go back to the hotel for the evening meal and overnight.

Day 6 – Padua

Today we will explore the beautiful city of Padua, starting with Mass at 10am in the Basilica of St Anthony. Afterwards we will enjoy a guided walking tour of the city including Prato della Valle, one of the largest squares in Europe and its famous market. A large outdoor market where you can find just about everything: from clothing to plants and flowers, but especially local produces. Lunch before continuing to explore Padua’s highlights and historical sites, such as the Basilica of Saint Giustina. Time to go back to the hotel for dinner and overnight in the hotel.

Day 7 – Sanctuary of St. Leopold Mandić

Today after breakfast we will be picked up at around 09:15/09:30hrs and transferred by coach to visit and have Mass at 10am (tbc) in St.Leopold Mandic. The church of the Capuchin friars of Padua, now better known as the Sanctuary of St. Leopold Mandić, built in the 16th century. Almost completely destroyed in World War II, it was later rebuilt. At 11:00-11:30hrs until 17:00 OPTIONAL excursion to Venice to be paid locally or FREE TIME to explore Padua e.g. the Scrovegni Chapel, Botanic Gardens, Shopping and so on. (**please note the attractions would have to be booked individually and ahead of time). After a full day dinner and overnight at la Casa del Pellegrino.

Day 8  – Travel Home

Today is unfortunately the last day of this beautiful pilgrimage in the north of Italy. We will have breakfast and an early departure to Venice airport to catch our 12:10pm flight back to Dublin.
