This week-long tour combines visits to important sanctuaries in the North of Portugal and South of Galicia, with a few days in Fatima, Portugal’s most iconic Marian shrines. The pilgrimage includes visits to the home of Blessed Alexandrina, in Balasar; Braga’s Cathedral, the striking Bom Jesus do Monte and Sameiro Sanctuary; the Blessed Maria of the Sacred Heart in Porto, as well as Tui and Pontevedra, across the border in Galicia.

Once in Fatima the group will enjoy a tour of the Sanctuary and a visit to the villages of Aljustrel and Valinhos, very special places for pilgrims in Fatima.

The magnificent Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary overlooking the square is the gathering point for thousands of pilgrims that visit the sanctuary every year and where they join in procession.

NORTH OF PORTUGAL AND FATIMA PILGRIMAGE ITINERARY

DAY 1 – FLY FROM BELFAST TO PORTO

Today the group will fly from Belfast to Porto. On arrival you will be met by our local guides and visit the home of Blessed Alexandrina, in Balasar.

We will then travel to Braga where we will be staying for the next three nights.

DAY 2 – TUI AND PONTEVEDRA

Today the group will travel to the South of Galicia across the Minho River, visiting historic Tui with its hilltop cathedral and beautiful Pontevedra, two important stops on the Camino Portugues to Santiago.

DAY 3 – BRAGA

Today the group will have time to explore Braga and visit its most important shrines including the Cathedral, Bom Jesus do Monte with stunning panoramic views and Sameiro Sanctuary.

DAY 4 – PORTO

The group will visit the Blessed Maria of the Sacred Heart in Porto and Ermesinde.

After exploring Porto we will travel to Fatima where we will stay for the next few nights.

DAY 5 – ALJUSTREL

In the morning, the group will travel to the village of Aljustrel, home of the three shepherd children and visit the Fatima Parish Church.

In the afternoon, the group will take a tour of the Sanctuary with our knowledgeable Fatima team.

DAY 6 – FATIMA

Today the group will follow the Stations of the Cross in the morning.

In the afternoon, the group will attend Mass at the Shrine.

DAY 7 – CEREMONIES AND FREE TIME

Ceremonies at the Sanctuary in the morning, followed by a free afternoon to relax.

DAY 8 – TRAVEL BACK 

Transfer to Lisbon and flight back to Dublin
