This 7-night Tailored Group Shrines of France Pilgrimage will take your group to historic places of Catholic devotion across France.
In Lisieux, the group will visit the places associated with St Thérèse including, Les Buissonnetts, the Carmel Chapel, the Museum and the Great Basilica. St Thérèse spent her time meditating and praying in the Cathedral of Lisieux. She joined the Carmelites at age 15 and when she passed, she was canonised and proclaimed the greatest saint of all times by Pope Pius X in 1925.
In Compiegne, a town northeast of Paris, the group will visit the Carmelite Convent of the blessed Carmelite Martyrs. Further they’ll explore the city of Paris including the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre Museum and the Notre Dame. Then visit Rue de Bac, the Shrine of the Miraculous Medal and home to the headquarters of the Daughters of Charity.
On the way to Chartres, they will see Our Lady of Chartres Cathedral, a place of sacred art housing a vast collection of religious art works as well as the Holy Tunic of the Virgin. In Nevers, the group will visit the Convent of St Gildard where the Incorrupt body of St Bernadett rests.
Then, we will journey to Paray-le-Monial Mass, nicknamed the “city of the Sacred Heart” and the Basilica of the Sacred heart, a popular landmark and one of the most visited religious sites in France. We will continue our pilgrimage to Fourviere where we will visit the Notre Dame Basilica of Fourviere and onto to Chartreuse in Grenoble. Then, we will wander down to the Sanctuary of our Lady of La Salette located in the mountains above the village. Last stop will be Avignon, known for its historic papal past and the 14th-century residency of the popes at the monumental Palais des Papes.
