Located north of Lisbon, the sanctuary of Fatima was built to commemorate the events that took place in 1917, when the Virgin Mary appeared to three local shepherd children: Lúcia dos Santos and her cousins, Jacinta and Francisco Marto.
The magnificent Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary overlooking the square is the gathering point for thousands of pilgrims that visit the sanctuary every year and where they join in procession.
The Joe Walsh Tours team in Fatima led by knowledgeable Elsa and Carina has prepared a detailed programme for the pilgrimage so you can experience the Sanctuary in full.
The Chapel of Aparitions Capelinha das Aparições, the Via Sacra to Cova da Iria, the Way of the Cross and the childhood homes of the three shepherd children in the nearby villages of Aljustrel and Valinhos are some of the most special places for pilgrims in Fatima.
We work closely with hotels near the Sanctuary to provide quality accommodation and meals for our groups of pilgrims in Fatima. We hope you enjoy the experience.

- It is a condition of our acceptance of your booking that you obtain appropriate travel insurance. On STEP 2 please select ‘YES Insurance’ or ‘Insurance Declined (if you have your own travel insurance). If a date of birth is not selected, the system won’t allow you to proceed to Step 3. - Once STEP 3 is completed you will receive a provisional booking reference.
- Once the booking is reviewed at Joe Walsh Tours, you will receive a confirmation invoice by email. We normally send them quite quickly if booked during working hours. If booked outside office hours, you will receive it the next working day.
- After receiving a confirmation invoice, you will receive a separate email with a payment link. Payment links are sent between 4 – 6pm the same day or next day if booking is made after 4pm or weekends. Payments should be made within 3 days, either online or by bank transfer (1 working day if within 12 weeks of departure).
