DAY 1: Monday 9th October
Depart Dublin airport on flight to Naples. Upon arrival, we will visit and have Mass at St Philomena Shrine. Then we will have time for lunch and depart to San Giovanni
Rotondo, a small town in the province of Foggia, home of Saint Padre Pio and one of the most important centres of Catholic pilgrimage. Check into hotel for dinner and
overnight.
DAY 2: Tuesday 10th October
Today the group will celebrate Mass at the old church, the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie where Padre Pio lived, heard confessions, prayed, and received the
stigmata in 1918 at the old church, as well as this magnificent town, visiting the shrines associated to Padre Pio such as Padre Pio’s Church, Padre Pio’s Tomb. After
the day, the group will enjoy dinner at hotel.
DAY 3: Wednesday 11th October
After breakfast at your hotel, we will travel to the nearby town of San Marco in Lamis to visit St. Matthew’s Monastery, before lunch and mass at 16.45 in St Michael’s
Cave, where the Archangel Michael appeared in the fifth century. A long list of Saints and Popes have visited this cave to pray to the Archangel, among them St. Francis of
Assisi, St Pio and St John Paul II. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight. Return to San Giovanni for dinner and overnight.
DAY 4: Thursday 12th October
Following breakfast, we will spend the full day in San Giovanni Rotondo, visiting the Station of the Cross. If we have free time, we will have a short visit to Casa Sollievo
della Sofferenza, Padre Pio’s hospital. Then, the group will have free time to explore the San Giovanni Rotondo. Lunch and dinner at our hotel.
DAY 5: Friday 13th October
Breakfast in our hotel and checkout. From San Giovanni Rotondo we will travel to Fiuggi via the picturesque town of Pietrelcina, birthplace of Padre Pio and celebrate
Mass. Continue to Fiuggi where we will stay at Hotel San Giorgio on half board basis.
DAY 6: Saturday 14th October
Today the group will visit and have Mass in Genazzano, where we will admire the beautiful fresco of Our Lady of Good Counsel. The group we will spend the afternoon
in Tivoli known for its beautiful garden villas. Dinner and overnight at our hotel.
DAY 7: Sunday 15th October
Following breakfast we will visit and have Mass in Montecassino, including guided tour of Montecassino Abbey. The Montecassino Abbey is one of the most famous
abbey’s in the world. In 529 San Benedetto chose this mountain to build a monastery that would house him and those monks who followed him from Subiaco. He managed
to transform this place into a well-structured Christian monastery where everyone could have the dignity he deserved, through prayer and work. Later return to Fiuggi
for dinner and overnight.
DAY 8: Monday 16th October
Breakfast at hotel and check-out. Depart Fiuggi for evening flight from Rome to Dublin. On the way will visit and have Mass at Saint Maria Goretti Shrine, in Nettuno.
