Join us on this fantastic week-long pilgrimage to Padua and Lake Garda in the North of Italy, visiting spectacular shrines and exploring places of magnificent beauty.

The tour starts in Padua, where we will spend four nights. Padua or Padova, is one of Italy’s prettiest cities and the place where Saint Anthony lived for most of his life. The 13th century Basilica of St Anthony was built in his honour for pilgrims to visit the Saint’s tomb and place their prayers and petitions. In Padua we will explore Sant Giustina and Prato della Valle, one of the largest squares in Europe as well as St Leopold Mandić Sanctuary. We will also visit Camposampiero and the Walnut Tree Sanctuary, St Anthony’s sculptures and the Sanctuary of the Vision.

Our next stop will be Nago–Torbole, a comune in Trentino in the northern Italian region. From there we will have the option to take boat tour of Lake Garda and visit the Limone sul Garda, a small village in the northwestern part of Lake Garda, famous for its Limonaie.

We will also enjoy a day trip to Riva del Garda,exploring its amazing highlights such as fortifications, religious architecture and museums.

Pilgrimage to Padua and Lake Garda

Day 1:Padua
Today we will travel in comfort from Dublin to Venice. We will be landing at approximately 16:00hrs and you will be met by our Joe Walsh representative. Transfer by private coach to the hotel ‘Casa del Pellegrino’ in Padua where we will be staying for the next four nights with breakfast and dinner included every day.
Time to check-in, rest and have dinner.

Day 2: Padua and Basilica of Saint Anthony 
Today after breakfast we will visit and have Mass in the Basilica of Saint Anthony. This beautiful Romanesque Church is one the most visited sanctuaries in Italy, dedicated to Saint Anthony of Padua, patron saint of ‘Lost articles’. Time for lunch before continuing to explore Padua’s highlights and historical sites, such as Sant Giustina and Prato della Valle, one of the largest squares in Europe. Dinner and overnight in the hotel.

Day 3: St Leopold Mandić Sanctuary
After breakfast we will be picked up at 08:30hrs and transferred by coach to visit and have Mass in St.Leopold Mandic. The church of the Capuchin friars of Padua, now better known as the Sanctuary of St. Leopold Mandić, was built in the 16th century. Almost completely destroyed in World War II, it was later rebuilt. At 10:00hrs until 16:30 excursion to Venice or free time to explore Padua e.g. the Scrovegni Chapel, Botanic Gardens, Shopping and so on.

Day 4: Camposampiero
Today we will start our journey to the nearby Camposampiero at 09:00hrs. We will have a walking tour of Camposampiero and the shrine where Saint Anthony lived and had the vision of our Baby Jesus. We will visit sites such as the Walnut Tree Sanctuary, St Anthony’s sculptures and the Sanctuary of the Vision. Mass (time tba).
At 13:00hrs approximately return to the hotel Casa del Pellegrino, free time for lunch and afternoon exploring the big and famous market in Prato della Valle that takes place every Saturday.
Dinner and overnight in the hotel.

Day 5: Trentino
Today after breakfast and Mass it is time to check out from Casa del Pellegrino and continue to the next part of our pilgrimage. We will be departing at 10:30hrs from Padua to the Hotel Piccolo Mondo situated in Torbole. Nago–Torbole is a comune in Trentino in the northern Italian region. Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, located about 30 kilometres southwest of Trento on the north shore of Lake Garda. Check in and dinner. We will be spending the next three days on a Half Board basis in this hotel.

Day 6: Lake Garda
After Breakfast and a good night rest optional boat tour of the Lake Garda and visit to Limone.
This boat tour will drop us off and pick us up at Limone sul Garda, a small village in the northwestern part of Lake Garda. It is famous for its Limonaie, where you can admire the various types of citrus fruits grown, its fine olive oil, thanks to the numerous olive groves and for the longevity of its inhabitants.
Dinner and overnight in hotel.

Day 7: Day trip to Riva del Garda
Today we will have the full day trip to Riva del Garda.A favourite destination those who love sports but not only, Riva del Garda also boasts a long history, which has given us many places of artistic interest such as fortifications, religious architecture and museums. We will move with local transport and Mass will be arranged in a local church.
Back to the hotel Piccolo Mondo for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Travel back home

After breakfast and check out we will be collected at 11:00hrs and will depart to Milano Orio al Serio Airport for our way back to Dublin. Our flight will depart at 16:35hrs approximately.
