Join our pilgrimage to Fatima to celebrate the Feast of Our Lady on 13th October.
Located north of Lisbon in Central Portugal, Fatima became known in May 1917 when Our Lady appeared to three shepherd children. She would then visit them on the 13th day of each month until her last apparition, which took place on 13th October 1917. This last visit was witnessed by 70,000 pilgrims and is known as the ‘Miracle of the Sun’.
The Sanctuary built to commemorate these events is dominated by the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary, a magnificent church that overlooks a large open plaza where millions of pilgrims gather in procession throughout the year.
The 13th of each month is still a very special date at the Sanctuary, but particularly in May and October, when pilgrims celebrate the Feast of Our Lady.
Visits to the Chapel of Apparitions and the homes of the three shepherd children in the nearby villages of Aljustrel and Valinhos are some of the attractions of our Fatima pilgrimages which also include a full religious programme organised locally by our team of representatives led by Elsa Silva and Carina Vieira.
We work closely with the hotels Santo Amaro, Cinquentenario, Avenida and Steyler who are located just outside the Sanctuary and provide quality accommodation and meals for our groups.
