Located north of Lisbon in Central Portugal, Fatima became known in 1917 when three shepherd children witnessed the apparitions of Virgin Mary. The sanctuary built to commemorate these events is dominated by the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary, a magnificent church that overlooks a large open plaza where millions of pilgrims gather in procession throughout the year. Visits to the Chapel of Apparitions and the homes of the three shepherd children in the nearby villages of Aljustrel and Valinhos are some of the attractions of our Fatima pilgrimages which also include a full religious programme organised locally by our team of representatives led by Elsa Silva and Carina Vieira. We work closely with the hotels Santo Amaro, Cinquentenario, Avenida and Steyler who are located just outside the Sanctuary and provide quality accommodation and meals for our groups.
