Located in the Autonomous Community of Castile – León, in central Spain, the province of Avila has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985, and a deeply religious town that, for centuries, has drawn pilgrims to pray to Saint Teresa of Avila.
Visits to Avila’s old town and its impressive city walls, monumental gates, churches, convents, and high-walled palaces are some of the attractions of our Pilgrimage to Avila, including excursions to Segovia and Alba de Tormes, where Saint Teresa of Avila died in 1582 and where pilgrims will see St.Teresa’s relics.
A detailed religious programme has been organised by the pilgrimage experts at Joe Walsh Tours and led by the Spiritual Director.
